Up to £75,000 per annum depending on experience

The UK infrastructure sector is earmarked for considerable investment to aid with the country’s net zero targets and to generate economic growth in a post Brexit Britain. With an evident increase in vehicles back on the roads, the Highways sector will see considerable investment to improve many of the country’s most well-known routes and help alleviate congestion. As such Ganymede are looking to speak with experienced Design Engineers who wish to work for a leading Consulting organisation contributing innovative design solutions to National Highways and Local Authority schemes

The Role

As Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing technical elements of major highways improvement schemes for both Local Authorities and Highways England.

This will see you involved from establishing the concept of requirements, through developing the scope of works and culminating in delivering design options for agreement.

As part of a wider design team, you will provide technical support and advice to team members in aid of both project delivery and their professional development, alongside assuming commercial responsibilities for design projects. This will incorporate effective financial and project management systems exist to monitor progress against agreed deliverables.

You will be required to undertake verification exercises within projects and approve and sign off on work delivered, ensuring effective document control and reporting to fulfil client requirements.

The Design Engineer role will also interact with clients in the presentation of technical solutions and reporting of progress.

Opportunities are available at a Senior / Principal level and beyond, subject to experience. A salary commensurate with your experience is on offer up to circa £75k. Additional ‘big company’ benefits are also offered including healthcare, defined contribution pension etc

About you

For you to hit the ground running in this role, it is essential that you are an experienced Highways Design Engineer, ideally familiar with Bentley Suite. A formal qualification, preferably degree, is preferred.

Communication is key in this role, so you will be somebody able to build close working relationships and able to work harmoniously with multiple project stakeholders.
