The Role

As the SHEQ Advisor you will assist in delivering health, safety and environmental objectives for this high-profile highways project within the local region. You will actively promote a HSE culture which is consistent with organisations positive Health and Safety programme and business leadership ambitions. As the advisor for this project, you will assist in the pre-qualification process of sub-contractors applicable to their project or business scope where necessary via company on-boarding system as well as reviewing project Construction phase plans (CPP), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). Work closely with site teams to provide technical and specialist advice to line and site management in the implementation of the EHS Programmes or initiatives as well as continuously monitor site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system with regards to HSE and client expectations.

Conduct audits on a regular basis, and record findings and provide advice on preventative measures and actions to be taken. Assist the team in conducting incident investigation to identify root cause and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, monitors and manages incident reports in designated timescale.

Benefits

As well as the ability to grow within the organisation, you will be offered a salary of circa £45,000 per annum, Company car or car allowance, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and a matched 5% pension scheme, plus salary sacrifice schemes you may wish to join.

About You

Being an experienced Health & Safety professional within the Construction, Water or Highways sector, you’ll be approachable and have the ability to effectively communication at all levels within the organisation, in delivering a positive HSQE culture across the site. You’ll also have a NEBOSH (Construction or General) and eager to work for such a prestigious organisation at the very start of a project!

This is a mobile role so will require your flexibility to travel to sites local to the project

Of key consideration is your character; the role demands a proactive, positive and engaging approach to Health and Safety to ensure all project stakeholders embrace ownership of safety on site
