Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Design Engineer to kickstart start their career in Civil Engineering. You would be working for a Tier one construction client whose name is synonymous with large Civil Engineering schemes across Highways, Water and Built environment. Having recently graduated, minimal work experience is necessary as training will be given on the job. You must be familiar and competent with AutoCAD and willing to learn in a fast pace environment that deals with many projects simultaneously.  

The Role

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing a full range of temporary works requirements from excavations and working platforms to formwork, falsework & scaffolding. Site based TWCs & TWSs are also supported through participation in technical reviews. Site visits will be required to check compliance with the temporary works procedure.


You will be required to attend meetings and site visits to discuss design requirements for upcoming or live projects, you will also be involved in providing engineering and technical expertise for specific tenders.

You will assist in the production of design briefs and prepare and check design calculations of the wider team and external design partners and be reporting into a design engineer or senior design engineer.

You will be responsible for producing drawings or in some cases schedules from the design calculations. 

Create all designs and design checks within the agreed time scales.

Ensure you achieve the correct standards of Safety, Quality and Environmental Management.

Do you have experience with AutoCAD and an interest in Civil Engineering, are you a good communicator? Have you just graduated with a degree in Civil or Structural engineering or HNC/HND and have at least a years’ experience in civil or structural engineering?
