The Role

Daily duties and responsibilities are the following:

  • Estimating on a wide variety of project types and values ranging from small works projects to multimillion-pound multi-discipline projects. This includes disciplines such as geotechnical, structural renewals/repairs, works on station buildings, property and track.
  • Aiding in tender strategy with commercial and operations teams with line Management support and guidance.
  • Aiding the tender process on multiple projects at once, when required.
  • Highlight key risks and opportunities, report them back to the Senior Management team.
  • Building and maintaining effective client and supplier relationships.
  • Aiding in costing projects and collaborating costs to correct projects.
  • Aiding in the creation of monthly documents to support the Management team.

 

About you

As an Estimator, you will have strong organisational skills, be commercially aware, proactive and produce high quality, viable winning tenders in a fast-moving industry. A Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement for the role. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to undertake the role from previous or current experience.
