A world-renowned Tier 1 contractor have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager experienced in the rail infrastructure sector to join their team in Newcastle and work on the design and development of a major rail infrastructure scheme. The Role:
As Design Manager you will provide the ‘critical cog’ between the client, design consultancy and the site team, driving design performance and ensuring works are completed to client specification. You will use your technical knowledge to create standards of the highest quality and ensure collaboration between all stakeholders.
You will work in a team with the Project Manager and advise on technical matters, providing solutions to Engineering challenges which will incorporate not just civil engineering but; building works, signalling, Overhead Line, M&E, and track.
Building a mutually beneficial relationship, you will also source information efficiently from the Design partner ensuring programme deadlines are met. Your knowledge of the design function will also be critical in advising on commercial alterations to the project specification.
Required Experience
-
A qualified Engineer ideally Civil Engineering OR Construction

Experience in Rail Infrastructure projects of a multi-disciplined nature (civils, track, signalling)

Experience of Co-ordinating or Managing the Design function for a Tier 1 Contractor or a consultancy

Motivated to be part of a winning team on a prestigious project!
