Company: The company in question are one of the UK’s most formidable construction businesses with a vision to be a people-orientated, progressive business, driven by their values to deliver lasting change for their stakeholders and the communities they work in. This particular role is within their highways business where they have seen impressive growth over the last few years achieving tremendous success under the CDF Framework and Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA) amongst other local authority frameworks. Right now, they are poised for continued growth successfully retendering for the MHA strengthened with additional success on the Regional Delivery Partnership in collaboration with Highways England in the South West and the Eastern regions. They’ve secured a strong pipeline of work over the next few years and are in a strong position to capitalize further.
Role Description: The company are looking to bring in an experienced Commercial Manager to work on an £85million highways scheme in Manchester which is another one of Highways England’s flagship Smart Motorways Programmes. The project will involve upgrading pavements, barriers, and drainage as well as installation of gantries, emergency refuge areas and technical equipment between junctions 6 and 8, to the west of Manchester Airport. This company are looking for a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial team (8 members) and be responsible for change controls, early warnings, subcontract management, contract administration and reporting etc.
Required Experience: To be considered for this role you will need to have experience operating as a Commercial Manager with main contractors on major civil engineering schemes (£50million+). You need to be a strong leader and have great people skills.
Remuneration: On offer is a competitive salary of up to £85,000 (depending on experience), car allowance, 28 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, 40-hour week, pension contribution + additional benefits alongside an opportunity to work within an established civil engineering business on a large-scale highways scheme.
