The upgrade of the rail network is no secret, with major, high spend projects coming live all over the UK. That being said, if you are an experienced Commercial Manager, who prides themselves on long term strategic thinking and have managed multiple projects worth over £100 million, then look no further for your next position.
The Role:
When you are successful, as the Commercial and Contracts Manager you will be drilling down into subcontract documentation, commercial notices, monthly reports and CVRs. Outside of the more technical aspects of the position, the human factor is also extremely important as stakeholder management and engagement is a key feature of the role moving forwards, and you must be able to manage multiple streams of work, relating to people of all levels and backgrounds.
You will also have autonomy to manage change, interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports and to make all key decisions relating to commercial matters.
The Company:
The business you will be working for as the Commercial and Contracts Manager has been engaged to deliver one of the largest rail projects of its kind. They have won the business based on their excellent reputation in the industry and having partnered with Scotrail and successfully delivered on a smorgasbord of large-scale rail projects.
You will be working for one of the top principal contractors in the UK, with and order book into the £billions, meaning that the successful Commercial Manager can be certain of the longevity of the position.
Remuneration:
Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with ‘big company’ benefits including generous pension, holiday entitlement and private healthcare.
About You:
We are looking for the very best Commercial and Contracts Manager who lives and breathes strategic thought, and wants to pass on their knowledge, that being said previous management of a team of direct reports is absolutely essential for this Commercial and Contracts Manager position.
Due to the nature of the work an unrivalled knowledge of different types of contracts would be a real bonus, especially coupled with a legal qualification focussed on contract law.
